When Sarah visited Manus Island detention centre a few weeks ago she was shocked to see the harsh living conditions facing the 34 children who have been indefinitely imprisoned there by the Labor government.
The children go to school in a room with no windows or doors to keep out the intense heat and humidity, and they have no library with fun books or proper playground to give them a break from the trauma of their situation.
Many of the kids in Manus told Sarah how much it meant to them when ordinary Australians signed and sent hundreds of messages of hope last Christmas.
