The Australian Greens are inviting same-sex couples who want to get married to send us a photo of themselves to be presented in two special albums to the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition.
The time has come for marriage equality.
We know that 62% of the Australian community wants to see it happen. Cupid doesn’t discriminate and neither should the law.
The Greens have long been married to the cause of equality, from gay law reform in the 1980s to same-sex marriage now.
We believe marriage equality is inevitable and in the 2013 federal election campaign we are promising to do all we can to make it happen!
Senator Sarah Hanson-Young will collect your photos and deliver them to Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott, who are currently standing on the wrong side of history.
Sarah and Australian Greens Leader Senator Christine Milne have launched this campaign to remind the Prime Minister and Tony Abbott of all the loving couples who are denied the right to celebrate their marriage the country they love in front of their family and friends.
Click here to send us your photo to show Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott that you and your loved one want them to get out of the way of your wedding day!
