Senator Hanson-Young asked:
Are children allowed to keep their own toys when they are donated to children by people outside the centre?

Answer:
Generally, yes. However, parcels and gifts that are received for clients at a detention facility are either x-rayed before being given to a client or where there is no x-ray machine, for the clients own safety the parcels are opened in front of the client.
