Greens back small business in SA

Media Release
Sarah Hanson-Young 30 Aug 2013

South Australian Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young will today host a roundtable with small business owners to outline the Greens’ commitment to supporting smaller commercial organisations and companies in SA.

“The Greens are the only party that is really standing up for small business,” Senator Hanson-Young said.

“The Greens want a 2 per cent tax cut for small businesses across Australia, which would help 50,000 smaller companies here in SA.

“Because it is targeted at the small businesses that need it most, the Greens’ 2 per cent tax cut is more generous and more affordable than the Coalition’s and it also starts earlier.”

The roundtable today will be attended by South Australian food producers, caterers and small scale distributors.

“The Greens support local producers and want to see them given the funding they need to bypass the supermarket duopoly that is strangling community markets.

“South Australia is a small business state. New, expanding companies are the lifeblood of SA and the Greens understand that they need to be looked after.”
