Cuts to SA community sport funding must be reversed
The Greens will move a motion in the Senate this week condemning the SA Government’s $3.5 million cuts to funding for community sporting clubs.
“Community sport is crucial in Australia and I am worried that this decision will rip the heart and soul out of many towns and neighbourhoods across our state,” South Australian Greens Senator, Sarah Hanson-Young said.
“The social and health benefits of community sporting clubs are well known and I urge the Premier to recognise that and reinstate the funding that these clubs so desperately need.
