Faked comments attributed to Senator Hanson-Young

 

An obviously faked version of a statement made by Senator Sarah Hanson-Young on the 16th of December 2014, in the aftermath of the tragic siege in Sydney, has been circulating online.

The photoshopped version of the statement should not be circulated further as the Australian Federal Police are investigating the source of the fabrication.

"It's disappointing that some people have altered the statement in such a sinister way, seeking to impersonate me and politicise this tragic event," Senator Sarah Hanson-Young said.

South Australian Greens Senators Sarah Hanson-Young and Penny Wright have slammed the Coalition's first budget, which slugs SA families while letting big business off the hook.

"This is a brutal budget by a cruel Coalition," Senator Wright said.

"Not only has Education Minister Christopher Pyne turned his back on SA school students by ripping the heart out of the Gonski reforms, he wants to make it harder and more expensive to go to university.

Poll shows South Australians want to keep $10bn of renewable industry funding

Tony Abbott wants to scrap the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, but polling* has shown that the majority of South Australians want to see it protected.

Greens back world-class Dental School and Hospital for Adelaide

The Greens have released their plan for a world-class Dental School and Hospital upgrade in Adelaide today.

“Adelaide needs a world class dental school and hospital, but so far the state and federal Labor governments have refused to come to the table,” South Australian Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young said.

“The current Dental Hospital facilities need to be upgraded. The hospital site on North Terrace would be the perfect place to set up a new facility for both the current dental hospital and the Adelaide University dental school.

SA says: protect Kangaroo Island from oil and gas drilling

Almost three quarters of South Australians want Kangaroo Island to be protected from planned oil and gas drilling, according to polling data released by the Australian Greens today.

A Lonergan poll of 1582 South Australians found only 16 per cent of voters supported the Bight Petroleum proposal for oil and gas exploration in the Kangaroo Island Canyon and Pools.
